Raul Z. Alvarado

Raul Z. Alvarado was born on August 22, 1920, in El Centro, CA. His journey of life ended in Oceanside, CA, on June 27, 2008, at the age of 87. Raul lived most of his life in El Centro and provided for his family as a meat cutter for Safeway Stores.

He also loved fishing and raising farm animals and was a history buff. He often enjoyed watching the History Channel. He built a house and moved to the cooler climate of Fallbrook with his wife, Carmen, in the early 1980s, where he enjoyed raising his animals and celebrating many family events and holidays.

He will be greatly missed and is survived by Carmen, his wife of 64 years; son Raul Alvarado Jr., Cypress, CA; daughter Olivia Fernandez, Imperial, CA; daughter Yvonne Alvarado, San Clemente, CA; son Steven Alvarado, San Pedro, CA; son Saul Alvarado, Riverside, CA; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many who felt that Raul was their “Grandpa” too. He was preceded in death by son Joe Alvarado.

Services will be held at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary at 333 North Vine Street in Fallbrook at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26.
