'Girls' Night Out' playing in Vista

VISTA — “Girls’ Night Out” is now playing at the Broadway Theater.

The story of four women of different ages and social backgrounds, “Girls’ Night Out” tells the story of these women who arrive at a bar – the Roy Roger’s lounge inside the Victorville Holiday Inn. It’s Ladies’ Night and they are there to meet their men.

Two of the women are there to reveal a secret, another will get the shock of her life and the last is there to mourn.

As the evening unfolds, bad weather prevents anyone from leaving – or arriving – so the women meet and begin to talk. As the wine begins to flow, so do their stories and their songs. Through a series of flashbacks the audience comes to find out how they got to this point in their lives.

Writer, director and Broadway Theater owner Randall Hickman says of the piece, “I got the idea for the script from an actual event that happened to my mother when I was 16 years old. She was on a bowling league, and one night a terrible storm swept through our town, knocking down power lines and tree limbs. My mom and her teammates were stranded in the bowling alley for six hours and the stories she told from that night were hysterical – I’ve included a couple in ‘Girls’ Night Out.’”

The production plays through August 2, with shows Thursdays through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and additional matinee showings at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

All seats are $16.50. Order tickets online at http://www.broadwayvista.com.
