'Pops' on the Green to be held August 14

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Music Society’s 23rd annual Symphony “Pops” on the Green will feature a special engagement of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, August 14, before an audience seated lakeside on the stunning grounds of the beautiful Grand Tradition.

August is traditionally the month that Fallbrook Music Society celebrates a summer evening filled with melodic symphony sounds and selections from some of the most influential classical and Americana music of all time. Once again, the superb San Diego Symphony Orchestra will perform in an inspiring evening of American Pops under the stars.

This “Sing Out, America” concert will feature many known works, such as “Over the Rainbow,” “Music of the Night,” “Star Wars,” “A Gift to Be Simple” and many more.

“The annual summer concert gives residents of the Fallbrook area an opportunity to hear this remarkable symphony orchestra live and right in their own backyard,” said Judy Siodmak, marketing representative for Fallbrook Music Society. “This program promises to be one of the best ever with selections from some of the most familiar American musical traditions.”

The Music Society encourages those attending to bring blankets and (maximum) 24-inch, low-back chairs for lawn seating. Picnics are welcome. Concertgoers may also choose to order a reserved table for four, six or 10 people for a fee. Tables do not include concert tickets.

This year, complete barbecue dinners will be available for $19 and include a choice of seasoned beef, pulled pork or grilled chicken, three side dishes, cornbread, dessert and a choice of beverage.

General admission tickets for the event are $25 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Concert and BBQ dinner tickets may be purchased online at http://www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org or by calling (760) 451-8644.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30.
