FGSL takes second in North County - Moves to state playoffs

FALLBROOK — On Saturday, July 5, the Fallbrook Girls Softball League (FGSL) 12-Under team defeated San Dieguito Silver and Valley Center before losing to San Dieguito Gold.

On July 6, they defeated San Marcos Gold in extra innings 5-4, then had to beat San Dieguito Gold twice in order to win the championship. The Fallbrook girls won the first game 8-5. In the second game, their third of the day, they lost 6-5.

By finishing second in the North San Diego County district, the team earned a berth to the state championships in Lancaster, which will begin on July 11. The team now has the distinction of being the highest achieving in the four-year history of the FGSL.
