Mary Jane Dresch

Mary Jane Dresch, 86, of Oceanside, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008, in Vista.

Our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was born in San Francisco on April 7, 1922, to Alvin and Mary Harrison.

She worked for the San Francisco Chronicle for a period of time and while on vacation in Los Angeles met her future husband. She married Stewart L. Dresch on April 15, 1945.

A devoted homemaker, she raised four children in Southern California. A devout Catholic, Mary Jane revealed her kind, loving soul to all through her contagious laugh, genuine smile and willingness to help. She had a unique gift of making you feel “special.”

Mary Jane enjoyed extensive travel all over the world and met many friends during her trips.

She is survived by children Helen Mooney, Stewart Dresch, Dennis Dresch and Debra Dickey; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Stewart.
