Neighborhood celebrates Fourth of July with parade, picnic

FALLBROOK — Neighbors and friends on Mil Sorpresas Drive gathered together again to hold their second annual parade and picnic event for the Fourth of July.

“Participants in the parade outdid themselves with the use of special decorations,” said Cathy Wall. “Golf carts, tractors, wagons, sports cars, adults, children, horses and dogs proudly showed the patriotic colors!”

One creative float was made out of metal in the shape of a chicken. “It was very funny,” Wall said. And one resident adorned her horse with a beautiful form-fitting mask in the colors of the flag.

Children and adults alike got into the patriotic spirit. “A wagonload of little kids were waving their flags as their dad pulled them with his tractor,” Wall said. “One resident, Joe Hiseler, decked out his tractor with flags and lots of red, white and blue.”

After the parade, the group held a potluck barbecue with a wide variety of food.
