VFW, hospital collecting used cell phones for soldiers

FALLBROOK — Volunteers from the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Ladies Auxiliary of Fallbrook are working together to support the troops.

They have introduced a recycling program called Cell Phones for Soldiers. It’s easy; people just donate their old cell phones! The phones are sent to Recellular, which in turn pays Cell Phones for Soldiers enough to provide an hour of talk time per phone to soldiers abroad.

Organizers encourage people to ask their neighbors, friends, relatives and business acquaintances to donate so that soldiers can call their loved...
