RE: 'Global warming: a political Doom's Day religion' [Letter, Village News, 7/10/08]

Maybe someone should tell Barbara Finwall that, like the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, there are thousands of other individual scientists and organizations that also believe the global warming hysteria is just that, a hoax, on a scale never seen before.

As in the 1970s when some of these same people were crying the sky is falling when they thought we were going into an ice age and in the ’80s when acid rain was going to destroy the Earth. It is nothing more than many scientists realizing their lifelong dreams on making millions of dollars off of research grants to study an issue.

Surprisingly enough, these same scientists continue to change their thesis as their observations change, but no matter what the observations may point to, it is always man made global warming. Barbara Finwall should go back to school and study science and then write a letter.

If she wants, I can send her names of thousands of scientists who disagree with her vehemently.
