Bourque brothers graduate on same day

Justin Bourque, a 2002 Fallbrook High School graduate, and his brother Andre, Fallbrook High School 2004, both graduated on June 14 with ceremonies taking place 1,000 miles apart – one in nearby Coronado and one in Eugene, OR.

Justin graduated from Southwestern College Basic Law Enforcement Academy. For the first time in the academy’s more than 20-year history, all four awards – top academics, marksman, physical fitness and honor cadet – were given to the same person: Justin.

Currently Justin is employed by Aztec Shops at SDSU as a senior loss prevention agent. He is pursuing a BS degree in criminal justice to further his career in law enforcement.

Many family and friends attended the ceremony, including high school friends Jeremiah McLeod, Landon Bennetts, Megan Colletta, Jackie Visser Tate and Chris Sarette and uncle George from New York.

Andre graduated cum laude from the University of Oregon with a BS in business, concentration in sports business and a minor in economics. Parents Iris and Paul Bourque, aunt A.J. Johnson and two Fallbrook High School friends, Michael Visser and Ryan Weeks, all Fallbrook residents, attended the ceremony, as did uncle Bill Garbat of Oceanside.

Andre is currently employed with Nike SPARQ in Portland and is assisting with the development of their soccer training component in coordination with the United States Soccer Federation.

Andre recently returned from Raleigh, NC, where he represented SPARQ at the US Soccer Federation’s Development Academy. He is presently residing in Beaverton, OR.
