Mildred Ellen Standish

Mildred Ellen Standish, 75, died on Sunday, July 20, 2008, due to complications of cancer and pneumonia, surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren.

Born on November 7, 1932, in Howell, MI, Millie lived in Fallbrook for 37 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Pauline and William Jacobs and sisters Maxine and Marion.

Millie was an active member in Soroptimist International of Fallbrook; she enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking cookies and the company of her six granddaughters. She will be greatly missed by her family and the community of Fallbrook.

For more than 30 years, Millie was the administrative secretary for Standish Precision Products in Fallbrook. Previously, she was secretary for both Del Rey Avocado in Fallbrook and Claremont Men’s College in Claremont, CA.

Millie is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Standish; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Amelia Standish, Fallbrook; daughter Denise Standish and Clay Rossman, Temecula; son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Cammy Standish, Fallbrook; grandchildren Janee and Jenise Standish, Fallbrook, Kelly and Curtis Crook, Temecula, Kristen Coseo, Temecula, and Allison and Emily Standish, Fallbrook; sister Marie McKenzie, Fenton, MI; and brother Bill Jacobs, Wichita Falls, TX.

A funeral Mass will be held on August 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church with private interment at Mission San Luis Rey.
