Potter students make another donation to fire victims

FALLBROOK — The Builder’s Club at Potter Jr. High recently presented a donation of $500 to Legacy Endowment. The donation was raised by members of the club who sold books to benefit families recovering from last October’s Rice Canyon wildfire.

Previously, the club had collected nearly 5,000 books and held a Book Giveaway in March to restock families’ shelves with new and gently used books. Since there were books remaining, the club decided to sell books at school to students and teachers for 25 cents each to benefit the same cause.

The students and teachers of the Builder’s Club were recently recognized at the annual convention of Kiwanis International in Orlando for their outstanding efforts. Legacy Endowment has helped with managing donated funds and has given more than $130,000 to fire victims since last October.
