'Tomatomania' coming

‘Tomatomania’ is that time of year when Fallbrook Garden Club members get back together to eat and chat with friends.

Don’t miss this annual summer picnic at Live Oak Park on Wednesday, August 6, at 4:00 in the cool of the afternoon.

Everyone is invited to bring a favorite salad or dessert, enough for eight to 10 people. Drinks, utensils and plates will be provided.

The ‘Tomatomania’ contest will again be in the following categories for judging, from smallest, medium to largest tomatoes in groups of five. Decorated tomatoes will be judged, as will best salsa, pickled tomatoes and preserves.

Members who have not yet renewed their membership can bring their renewal checks to the picnic.

All Garden Club meetings are open to the public.

The Fallbrook Club was organized March 26, 1931, and is still growing tomatoes.

For more information call event chairperson Jane Carpenter at (760) 477-7068.
