Ludwig speaks on women's issues

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) recently held its last meeting of the year. The featured speaker was member Sherry Ludwig, who did a PowerPoint presentation on One Shared World, an advocacy organization dedicated to international women’s issues.

Ludwig has been very active in women’s right issues dating back to the 1960s while attending Brooklyn College in New York City. Today she is one of 16 women who make up the governance body of the California AAUW, serving as International Advocacy Director. She also serves in that capacity for the Fallbrook Branch of AAUW.

In her presentation, Ludwig emphasized the plight of women throughout the world who suffer from hunger, lack of medical assistance, educational advancement and degraded social status.

AAUW’s mission is to promote equality, lifelong education and positive societal change for all women and girls. For information on joining, call Julie Norberg at (760) 728-8700.
