National Charity League honors senior Ticktockers

FALLBROOK — The San Luis Rey chapter of National Charity League (NCL) presented eight local young women and honored them for their community service during an evening ceremony held May 20 at the Grand Tradition.

Guests were greeted by NCL President Lynn Sheffer. Emcee of the event was former Ticktocker and current Patroness Stacie Davis. Each young woman was individually recognized for her hours of community service. In addition, two special awards were presented.

The Senior Service Award for the most hours accrued by a Senior Ticktocker went to Hilary Smith with 278.25 hours. The Spirit of NCL Award, which is given to the senior who most emulates the ideals of NCL, was awarded to Hailey Van Wechel.

The following young women were recognized that evening: Kyleen Button, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Button; Kendall Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Clark; Maggie Earle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Earle; Shaunti Hedrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Hedrick; Kathleen Mellano, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mellano; Katie Sheffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Sheffer; Hilary Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ian Warbrick; and Hailey Van Wechel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erick Van Wechel.
