RE: 'Were we at the same meeting?' [Letter, Village News, 7/17/08]

The June 30 agenda for FPUD reads exactly as follows: Item F: “Agreement with Orange Grove Energy for Potable Water – Authorize the General Manager to execute a Potable Water Agreement with Orange Grove Energy with non-substantial changes, and the Potable Water Option Agreement with Orange Grove Energy LP.”

This agreement is going to be for potable water, not reclaimed water as Darlene Dakovich claims.

Archie McPhee was not asleep but maybe Darlene doesn’t understand that Orange Grove Energy cannot use reclaimed water in a power plant for NOx (nitrous oxygen) control and inlet cooling. California’s Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission would never allow that so maybe Darlene is confused.

Talking about reclaimed water doesn’t make it so. Wait and read the contract, then you can apologize to the people who want to keep our water allotment inside FPUD’s service area.
