Supervisors approve Wilderness Gardens acquisition

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 July 23 to purchase a 19.24-acre parcel in Pala which will be added to the county’s Wilderness Gardens Preserve open space park.
The supervisors authorized the County of San Diego to purchase the property for $106,000 from Environmental Trust, Inc. The acquisition of the parcel east of Lilac Road and approximately 200 feet south of the San Luis Rey River brings the total area of Wilderness Gardens Preserve to 738 acres.
