RE: 'An outstanding student was overlooked' (Letter, Village News, 6/26/08)

This is a follow-up to my Letter to the Editor regarding the unfair way that scholarships are given out to students at Fallbrook High School. I specifically wrote about one student who I felt was unfairly overlooked.

Well, I am happy to report that my letter did some good. St. Vincent de Paul offered a scholarship for $1,000 to the young lady I had written about! They also felt that the scholarships were going to the “squeaky wheels.”

So, thank you very much from both me and the young lady I had written about (her name is Crystal Lane). Also, one of the gentlemen at St. Vincent de Paul sent her a personal check for “incidentals.” So nice!
