Calvary Chapel hosting blood drive for Fluke

Friends and neighbors of Fallbrook High School student Carissa Fluke are coming together to host a blood drive at Calvary Chapel, 488 Industrial Way, on August 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Carissa was diagnosed with leukemia and has already required blood transfusions. She will most likely need additional transfusions as part of her future treatment.

The public is invited to attend the drive. To schedule an appointment, call (800) 469-7322 or visit http://www.SanDiegoBloodBank.org.

Blood donors must be over age 17, in good health and weigh more than 110 pounds. A good meal and plenty of fluids are recommended prior to donation.
