Giant Lobster spotted

FALLBROOK — The appearance of the Giant Lobster roaming downtown streets these days reminds everyone that the annual Rotary Club of Fallbrook fundraiser, Lobster on the Green, is at hand Friday, September 5.

This year’s venue will be Ingold Sports Park, 2551 Olive Hill Road, across Mission Road and above the high school so there will be a flat field for the tables, lots of displays on the outfield grass and a spectacular view of Mt. Palomar.

Fallbrook philanthropist Arlyne Ingold is the Title Sponsor for this year’s event. Ingold is an honorary member of the Fallbrook Rotary Club.

The dinner menu features all-you-can-eat Maine lobster and steak (sorry, no take-home or containers). Gates open at 5 p.m .; dinner party at 6:30.

Live entertainment will be provided by Judy Taylor with her all-girl band of musicians, The Wild Oats.

One of the evening’s auction items is a ride in a biplane, which will provide an overhead loop and smoke display during the evening of the event.

Word has it that there will be a display of beautiful state-of-the-art cars and matching classic and vintage cars on the outfield grass for guests’ purview and enjoyment.

Tickets ($75 each) must be purchased in advance and can be bought at http://www.fallbrookrotary.org and (760) 510-0945.
