RE: 'Agencies combine power for second sweep in Fallbrook' [Village News, 7/24/08]

Thank you for your excellent article. Our community appreciates your great front page coverage of this significant sweep for the safety of Fallbrook, Bonsall and Rainbow.

We commend our local law enforcement, commanded by Lt. Alex Dominguez, for working with Carlsbad, Escondido and Oceanside police departments to achieve this success.

Our gratitude and appreciation goes to Sgt. Theresa Adams-Hydar and her team of detectives for helping to organize this sweep, which included 20 ICE agents and Special Agent Miguel Unzueta, in charge of Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Department of Investigations, in San Diego.

This would not have been possible without San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Vista station, which sought and was awarded a grant of $983,723 from the US Department of Justice to pay for operations such as this.

Fallbrook, Bonsall and Rainbow community members are grateful to all county and state departments who are responsible for driving home the message of zero-tolerance gang enforcement. No longer will we allow gangs, drugs and crime to deteriorate our communities!
