FGMS to meet

The Fallbrook Gem & Mineral Society will meet on September 11 at 6 p.m. for the annual Potluck Dinner. Bring a dish to pass and a good appetite. Location will be 123 West Alvarado Street (museum headquarters).

Following the meal, Meg Berry will show how she carved a stone with a beautiful orange fall-like hue, spessartine garnet from a new source in Tanzania. She will also include her cutting of an emerald from the famous shipwreck the Atocha and perhaps will carve opal, too. Berry was recently featured on the Travel Channel show “Cash and Treasures.”
