See tall ships in San Diego

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Maritime Museum is hosting the Festival of Sail Wednesday through Sunday, August 20-24, on the embarcadero in downtown San Diego. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see more than 20 ‘tall ships’ in one setting. The entertainment will feature A.J. Croce, the US Navy band, sea chantey singers, mariachis and more.

Admission tickets will be in the form of a passport that will be stamped with a visa for each ship visited. The passport will also be good for a visit to the museum a second time this year. All ships will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. while music will continue until 8 p.m.

This sail festival of tall ships will be the last one to be held on the west coast. Parking near the embarcadero will be limited and public transportation is encouraged.
