Fallbrook wins close cribbage match

On July 24, 41 cribbage players shuffled cards and pegged points in the monthly Senior Challenge Cribbage match at the Vista Elks Lodge. It was a close match in which one win difference separated the winning Fallbrook team from the Oceanside team.

The top winner was Tom Waterbury on the Oceanside team, who won all seven of his games. In second place was Fallbrook’s Ed Wozniak, who for the second straight month had six wins with two skunks. In third was Willie Williams with five wins and two skunks. Rounding out the top six places were Luella Brotherton, Ted Moody and Eileen Haworth, who each had five wins and one skunk.

Wilf Ash of Fallbrook won the $25 gift card donated by the Ralph’s supermarket in Oceanside.

Matches are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Vista Elks Lodge at 1947 East Vista Way. The next match will be August 28.

All who enjoy cribbage are invited to participate. Residence in Fallbrook or Oceanside is not necessary.
