Mission RCD selected to promote 'Flex Your Power'

SACRAMENTO — Mission Resource Conservation District (Mission RCD) is one of 16 California agencies selected to promote “Flex Your Power” campaign messages in the Fallbrook/Rainbow/Bonsall area.

Mission RCD has been awarded a $12,000 grant to design and implement outreach activities aimed at educating communities about the importance of saving energy.

“Flex Your Power” is a comprehensive marketing and outreach campaign targeted to rural communities. It is managed by Sacramento-based Runyon Saltzman & Einhorn, Inc. The program is funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by the California Investor Owned Utilities under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

“We are please to partner with Mission RCD on this worthwhile campaign that aims to educate the public about ways to save energy, save money and ultimately save the environment,” said Estelle Saltzman, president of Runyon Saltzman & Einhorn, Inc.

“Mission RCD has developed a variety of exciting activities and events to reach large numbers of local residents,” Judith Mitchell, district manager of Mission RCD, said. “We are very pleased to have been selected to participate in the ‘Flex Your Power’ outreach campaign. All of us are working together to achieve a common goal: to protect the environment for future generations by showing people how they can reduce energy, save money and save the planet. In addition to community outreach, “Flex Your Power” includes radio and print advertising to encourage rural utility customers to make permanent energy-efficient upgrades to their homes.
