Public invited to 'Name that Christmas Parade'

FALLBROOK — Christmas is coming! Kids are back in school and it will soon be time to focus on the holidays. With the 27th Annual Fallbrook Christmas Parade, residents can look forward to a festive, colorful way to kick off the final few weeks of the Christmas season. Soon enough, families will be bundled up, parking cars early, walking through the downtown area and making their way to their “favorite spot” to watch the entertainment pass by on Main.

This year, residents can help with a perhaps often overlooked aspect of the Christmas parade: the theme. Parade Chairs Roy and Linda Costello, and their committee of volunteers, are currently putting the theme search out to creative Fallbrook residents.

Be creative; be traditional; be hip. Make up one or more great Christmas Parade themes. Watch the Village News for the official kickoff of the “Name That Christmas Parade Theme” contest. Information will be provided on where to e-mail entries for the contest.

What does the winner get? The winner will have the satisfaction of having their theme selected by the Parade Committee and promoted for the famed event. The winning creative writer will also get numerous public accolades and a free ride in the Christmas Parade on a vehicle to be chosen by the committee.
