Candidate of the people

Over the years I’ve written many letters, but never about a political candidate. I am a Republican, but my letter is about a Democratic candidate. This says much for what I see as integrity in this man as well as my freedom to choose because of the person rather than the party.

I see Grey Frandsen as being a “candidate of the people.” How long has it been since we could say that?

Grey is running against the incumbent, Kevin Jeffries, for California Assembly District 66. How lucky we are to have this choice!

Grey is openly willing to state his opposition to Liberty Quarry. He is adamantly opposed to having this mine in the community where he lives with his family. This has become a top issue in his campaign…as it is in our communities.

His background in politics is impressive, both in Washington and in reconstructing policy in countries around the world. He worked on campaign reform with Senator Russ Feingold.

It is his humility and his connection to the issues affecting us every day that influence me: the economy, jobs, the environment. I see his main issues not being political but nonpartisan. He unites people rather than divides them.

Choose wisely.
