The past few generations of American Christians have become less and less involved in the affairs of the nation, tending to take the view that such involvement is earthly and unspiritual (or not related to the building of God’s Kingdom). Such sentiment may seem, at first glance, to be spiritual, but in reality is a rejection of the Christian’s call to be the salt and light of his or her world (Matt 5:13-16).
This Christian disengagement from national or cultural affairs leaves those affairs in the hands of people who do not have the benefit of Scriptural wisdom and dooms those affairs...
