Artists to learn wet-into-wet painting

FALLBROOK — The next general meeting of the Fallbrook Art Association will be held at 7 p.m. on September 8 at the Hilltop Center, 331 East Elder Street. The meeting will feature a watercolor demonstration by award-winning artist Alison Christler.

Preceding the meeting, there will be a free, informal “Eat ’n Critique” session from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. Participants in the critique are encouraged to bring one or two “paintings in progress” and may also bring a snack or box dinner to eat during the session.

Christler, an accomplished watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed-media artist, will demonstrate the wet-into-wet watercolor technique at the meeting. She teaches both oil and watercolor locally, organizes art trips to Europe, demonstrates painting techniques for Southern California art organizations and juries art exhibits.

Christler will also be conducting a watercolor workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on September 14 at the Fallbrook Public Utilities Department building, 990 East Mission. For workshop cost and registration, call Carol Reardon at (760) 731-6677.
