Gregory's special qualifications a benefit to seniors

At Fallbrook-Realty.com, broker Ruth Gregory is the ideal individual for seniors to turn to in a time of transition. Being a Realtor since the mid-1970s, her educational qualifications include being a graduate of the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), emphasizing her knowledge and professionalism.

“Education in this field is very important,” said Gregory. “Real estate changes with new laws, rules and regulations; you better know what’s going on.”

These days, real estate transactions take a new type of sophistication and understanding. Gregory makes continuing her education a priority in order to keep tuned in on the latest trends in order to provide exceptional service to her clients.

“Real estate is sure a lot more complicated than it used to be; when I started out, the contract was only one page,” said Gregory. “And when you did the counter [offer], you flipped the paper over and wrote on the back of it.” Those days are long gone.

Having lived in Fallbrook for the past 11 years, Gregory said she has seen the demand in real estate point more toward single-family dwellings.

Also noticing an increasing need in the senior population for guidance on real estate matters, Gregory pursued the education necessary for certification as a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES).

This special certification has enabled her to thoroughly address the wishes of her senior clientele. “Fallbrook has a significant retirement population,” explained Gregory.

A senior’s need to move can come in various forms: moving into the Fallbrook area, downsizing their home or relocating to a senior community. Gregory can help with all these needs.

“It’s tough enough for a young person to buy or sell a home; for a senior, it is more challenging,” she said. “Making a move can be hard work and it can be difficult.” Gregory understands the trials seniors face when needing to move and is pleased to offer personalized attention to make the process a smooth one.

Providing reassurance and consistent communication is a key to helping her clientele, Gregory said. She also explained that it is important to make the transaction convenient for seniors. For example, when the need arises to sign paperwork or have a meeting of some sort, Gregory does her best to make these appointments at her clients’ home.

Gregory’s years of expertise also entail analyzing a home in order to market it. In some instances, she will assist in having items replaced or repaired.

“A house needs certain things done to help it sell,” she said. “All those details that improve the overall look of the house, or how it should be in order to sell, are important.”

Prior to working at Fallbrook-Realty.com, Gregory worked in Los Angeles County for larger real estate firms. The transition to a smaller office in Fallbrook has been welcome.

“Any transaction is as good as your agent, whether they come from a small or big office,” she said. “In a small office, there are no office politics and all your time can be devoted to what’s important: your client.”

Gregory loves Fallbrook for its rural beauty. Being a grandmother of seven, three of them in Fallbrook, makes her life active. “Needless to say, I see a lot of the grandchildren,” she said.

In between her grandchildren and her real estate business, there is always something new going on in Gregory’s life. And that’s the way she likes it.
