Class to teach nutrition for cancer patients

The American Cancer Society offers a series of free monthly teleconference I Can Cope classes for cancer patients and caregivers.

The next session, from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, October 1, will cover “Nutrition During and After Cancer Treatment.” Participants can call in from their home or office. These classes are especially beneficial for those who do not have access to support groups.

Information on nutritious eating basics, strategies for managing nutrition problems and concerns and recommendations for individualized healthful eating habits will be provided by a professional facilitator. Patients will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Upcoming I Can Cope sessions will address money matters and fatigue. Call the Society’s toll-free number (800) ACS-2345 by Friday, September 26, to pre-register.
