Cell phone recycling for soldiers

Fallbrook’s Community-Wide Recycling/Clean-up Day on September 20, sponsored by Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green, will this year, for the first time, include a cell phone recycling activity organized by the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 1924.

Every cell phone that is recycled generates an hour of talk time for a soldier abroad. Collect old cell phones and bring them to the parking lot behind the Art and Cultural Center any time between 9 a.m. and noon on September 20.

Other recycling events that day include e-waste, computer hard drive destruction, household dry cell batteries, car and industrial batteries and paper shredding. All recycling events are limited to individuals and are free to North County residents.
