Oceanside claims cribbage win over Fallbrook

At the August Senior Challenge Cribbage match, the Oceanside Senior Center team defeated the Fallbrook team by three game points. Oceanside had 74 wins and six skunks to Fallbrook’s 73 wins and five skunks.

In the July match, the teams each had the same number of wins (74 and 73) but Fallbrook had 11 skunks to Oceanside’s seven for a two-game-point win.

The individual honors in the 42-player match went to Oceanside pegger Marty Hess with six wins and a skunk. Following him with five wins (without a skunk) were Bob Herzog, Roy Cook, Ethel Williams, Cheryl Selvaggio and Marge Schultz.

Rob Herziger of Oceanside won the $25 gift card donated by Wal-Mart.
