Cross Country Caper, Poker Run planned

The Coyote Country chapter of the Ninety-Nines, an international organization of women pilots, will sponsor the 17th annual Cross Country Caper and Poker Run. It is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Sunday, October 5, is the backup date.)

All pilots are invited to participate. The airports involved are Fallbrook, Ramona, Gillespie Field, Hemet, French Valley and Oceanside. Pilots can start at any of those airports but must finish at French Valley and be checked in no later than 2:30.

There will be awards for the best poker hands; pilots must land at five airports to be eligible for prizes. There will also be a silent auction. Proceeds from this popular event are used to support women planning careers in aviation.

For cost and more information, contact Marie Donovan at (760) 728-6568 or Mary McMahon at (951) 699-7494.
