Community-Wide Cleanup this weekend

FALLBROOK — The Community-Wide Cleanup and Recycling Day, sponsored by Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green, will take place this Saturday, September 20. This is an opportunity to help with large item cleanup activities around town and participate in a number of free recycling events (see ad on page A-19 for details). Volunteers can also help clean up local streets and roadways.

All activities will take place between 9 a.m. and noon in the large downtown parking lot behind the Art & Cultural Center at Main and Alvarado, except for the car/industrial battery event, which will take place at BP Batteries at 805 East Mission Road.

Everyone who volunteers must first sign and submit a waiver, obtained through the I Love a Clean San Diego Web site, http://www.cleanupday.org. Waivers will also be available on Cleanup Day at the parking lot behind the Art & Cultural Center.

All recycling events are limited to individuals and are free to North County residents.

Residents are reminded that this is not a household hazardous waste event, meaning that no items such as paints, fluorescent light bulbs, chemicals of any kind, tires or similar items will be accepted.

For more information, contact Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green at (760) 723-1138 or the Mission Resource Conservation District at (760) 728-1132.
