Festivities at Las Flores Adobe September 20

CAMP PENDLETON — Fallbrook’s Live Oak Questers will present an antique wood telephone this Saturday, September 20, at the free family Stage Coach Day festivities at Las Flores Adobe.

The event is part of California’s official celebration of the importance of 19th century stage lines in the state.

The telephone was selected by the Quester group as a replacement and to help with the restoration efforts at the national historic landmark. The donation is identified as a 1902 “Stromberg-Carlson Tel.Mfg.Co. Chicago” telephone.

In addition to the Quester presentation, attendees will enjoy tours of the adobe, native basket weaving, historic crafts, blacksmithing demonstrations and pony rides. Visitors can also enjoy Code of the West 1870s reenactments and visit their historically inspired encampment.

Period attire is encouraged for the public event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call SSgt. Limbal at (760) 725-5758.
