A bittersweet move

I started Controltec in my home’s spare bedroom on Foxfire Road in Fallbrook in 1993. We first rented an office in the Seers Industrial Building on East Mission. Then we moved into a suite on East Alvarado before we leased the building on South Main on September 15, 1996. Twelve years later to the day, we’re moving out.

Initially, everyone who worked at Controltec lived in Fallbrook. Now, most of our almost 40 employees commute from Temecula, Murrieta, Oceanside and San Diego. When our Fallbrook office became too small in 2006 and there was no real estate available to accommodate us, we moved...
