Cheerleaders need support, too

The Fallbrook High School cheerleaders and their parents would like to thank Albertsons and Major Market for their contribution to the cheerleading program’s fundraising efforts. In August, the cheerleaders sold root beer floats and offered a car wash at Albertsons. They also held a raffle with San Diego Charger Luis Castillo assisting and providing the basket of Charger items raffled in front of Major Market.

Coaches Megan Dahl, Allison Abbott and Stephanie Lowell are working hard to provide a well-rounded program that offers cheerleaders the opportunity to cheer at football and basketball games, pep rallies and special events in the community, participate in service projects and compete against other high schools at cheerleading competitions.

Last year, the varsity team placed first at the JAMZ National Championship, with junior varsity placing third in their division. All of these fun activities are a great way to keep the youth involved; however, there are expenses.

Those involved in organizing the cheerleading program are trying to make it financially accessible to all those who wish to participate. With the efforts of the coaches, Booster Club members, cheerleaders and the community working together with fundraising, our goal can be achieved.

Please look for future announcements of the cheerleading fundraising events. If you would like more information on how you or your company can participate in our fundraising efforts you can contact Cheer Booster Club President Heidi Minga at [email protected] or Ray Solly at [email protected].
