Ballroom dance class turns into fun

FALLBROOK — On Tuesday, September 16, two dozen people found their way to the Fallbrook Community Center to give their two left feet a try – at the ballroom dance class. Surprisingly, no one tripped and everyone walked out with a smile on their face.

“I was very surprised to see that many people show up,” said dance instructor James Ungricht. “I was very pleased to see a variety of ages and even more delighted that we had the same number of men and women. I’m optimistic that as the word gets out, we’ll get some younger kids to come and try this. I just haven’t been able to reach the high school audience quite yet.”

Ungricht pointed out that dance is a simple way to get some good quality exercise and improve balance and posture.

Classes continue for six more weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook Community Center. For information on classes offered, call the center at (760) 1671 or e-mail Ungricht at [email protected].
