Quilt guild to feature travel-inspired quilts

The Fallbrook Quilt Guild invites all who are interested in quilting to join them at their next regular meeting on Thursday, October 2, for “Destinations: Travel-Inspired Quilts.”

San Francisco textile artist Marcia Stein creates art quilts for the wall based on her travel photographs. Journey with her to Santa Fe, Italy, England and the south of France, where she shows her favorite scenes and tells how she created the quilts they inspired.

On Saturday, October 4, in a “Picture This!” workshop, participants will learn to machine appliqué a small quilt top using their own photo for inspiration. Contact Elvia Dawson at (951) 694-8023 to sign up for this workshop and to secure information regarding cost, required supplies and equipment.

Quilt Guild meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook Community Center. The business meeting begins at 6:30 and is followed by a social and refreshment time; the program begins at 7:30. Guests are welcome at meetings for a donation of $3.

For information regarding membership, contact Andy Hard at (760) 728-1079.
