County grants time extension for Live Oak Park Road subdivision

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 September 17 to approve a time extension for the completion of improvements for a Live Oak Park Road subdivision.

The performance completion date for the 19-unit subdivision covering 58.03 acres was extended to September 18, 2010. The property is owned by LACA Investments, LLC, and JJJD, LLC.

The subdivision will consist of 19 single-family residential lots and is located on the southeast side of Live Oak Park Road approximately 500 feet northeast of Ridge Drive.

The environmental Negative Declaration for the development was filed in August 1991, and in September 1991 the county’s Planning and Environmental Review Board approved a tentative map for the project.

In November 1997 the county’s Department of Planning and Land Use approved a time extension for the tentative map, providing a new expiration date of September 12, 2002.

On September 18, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved the final map and an agreement to improve the subdivision along with a lien contract and holding agreement.

Time extensions for the performance completion dates were also granted by the county’s Department of Public Works in August 2004 and by the Board of Supervisors in November 2006.

The ownership does not currently wish to construct the project, and the two-year time extension allows the owners to retain development rights while ensuring that the responsibility for infrastructure such as streets, drainage, and water facilities will remain with the property owners.
