Doris Darlene Thumb

Doris Darlene Thumb, 79, passed away September 27, 2008, at home in Fallbrook. Born September 26, 1929, in Missouri, she lived in San Diego County for 15 years.

Doris graduated from Venice High School in Los Angeles. She worked as sales clerk at Anawalt Lumber Company in Los Angeles. She worked for more than 20 years and retired in 1990. She was a member of the Fallbrook Presbyterian Church and various women’s organizations.

Doris is survived by daughters and son-in-law Debbie Higginbotham, Temecula, CA, and Pamela and Mike McGinley, Fallbrook; brothers Dick Vaught, Columbia, MO, and Glenn Vaught, Huntington Beach, CA; stepdaughter Donna Quinn, Redondo Beach, CA; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Thumb, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 4, at 11 a.m. at Fallbrook Presbyterian Church on South Stage Coach Lane. Donations may be made to Fallbrook Presbyterian.
