Art Center receives first Lobster on the Green funds

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Art Center received the first proceeds, a $1,000 check, from the September 5 Fallbrook Rotary-sponsored Lobster On the Green event held at Ingold Sports Park.

Executive Director Mary Perhacs received the check from Fallbrook Rotary President Janice Schultz at a recent Rotary meeting. The money will help underwrite the Art Center’s upcoming “Decades of Conflict: WWII-2008” exhibit to be held October 18-November 16.

This year’s Rotary Club of Fallbrook annual fundraiser fed more than 600 people all the Maine lobster and steak they could eat, provided more than 100 live and silent auction items for them to bid on and a live Judy Taylor and her all-girl band The Wild Oats concert.

“Proceeds from the event exceeded $115,000,” according to Event Chair Howard Clark. “This is the most money we have ever made at this event. We are proud of all of the people who worked so hard to make this the success it was, and to the many, many sponsors who backed it.”
