Republican campaign headquarters now open

FALLBROOK — On Saturday, September 13, the headquarters of the regional office of the McCain-Palin Republican campaign held its official grand opening at 131 West Beech Street. More than 150 people came to enjoy the fun, food and music that were provided, along with visits by several political figures.

Attendees enjoyed talking politics and showing support for their Republican Presidential candidate John McCain and Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Folks also were able to pick up yard signs, bumper stickers and other information that support Republican views and positions.

Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries spoke on the budget crisis in California, along with his support of McCain-Palin. Senator Dennis Hollingsworth was in attendance and enjoyed spending time talking with the many Fallbrook Republicans and listening to their views on the issues of the day.

San Diego County Republican Party Chairman Tony Krvaric spoke on the importance of volunteering in this historic campaign.

A surprise guest was Marine Sgt. Chris Watlenburgis, who shared with the crowd his recent tour of duty in Iraq. He thanked everyone for their support of the troops. He said that it made a difference to everyone knowing that they had supporters at home.

Other dignitaries in attendance were Jonathan Buettner, COO of the San Diego County Republican Party, and John Merguerian, who represents Vets for McCain in Southern California.

Music was provided by five members of the Fallbrook Chorale, who sang a wonderful medley of patriotic songs that the crowd cheered and sang along with.
