Gebhart is one of Fallbrook's best

I am not one who writes letters to the editor; however, this is a privilege to do so.

I want the Fallbrook residents to know that this election has one of their most dedicated residents running for the Planning Group. I have known Donna Gebhart for many years. She is one of the most honest, dedicated, hardworking people I know.

Donna and her husband, Al, moved to Fallbrook in August of 1997. They are both avid defenders of open space and keeping Fallbrook as rural as possible. Donna was approached to start a Trails Council as a division of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy in 1999. Donna, along with a group of Fallbrook residents, worked on the Community Trails Master Plan for Fallbrook. The County Board of Supervisors approved the trails and pathway plans by a unanimous vote in 2005.

Donna and Al lead in developing the Santa Margarita Park, which is the 173-acre park area. The grand opening for this park was last year with Supervisor Horn and our Trail members all present at the opening.

Donna works with the Fallbrook Public Utility District in maintaining the Sandia Creek Park (55 acres). The Santa Margarita Rivershed has about 11-14 miles of trails for non-motorized use and we maintain those trails and pathways for the public.

I encourage everyone to vote for Donna Gebhart for a seat on the Fallbrook Community Planning Group. She will represent us all with dedication and fairness.
