Swiss violin virtuoso to play in Fallbrook concert

FALLBROOK — Daniel Dodds, celebrated concertmaster and extraordinary violinist with Lucerne Festival Strings of Amsterdam, will perform center stage at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts on October 12.

In a rare treat, the Fallbrook audience will hear Dodds play the Stradivarius “ex Baumgartner” from 1717, generously provided by the orchestra.

The Stradivarius instruments built by the Italian Stradivari family beginning in the mid-1600s are famous for the quality of sound they produce. Although various attempts at explaining or duplicating their quality have been undertaken, most results have been unsuccessful or inconclusive.

A relative newcomer to the classical music scene, Dodds has captivated audiences worldwide with his riveting performances and poetic musicality. He offers a rich diversity of experience in the fields of orchestral, chamber and solo literature.

The concert will take place on Sunday, October 12, at 3 p.m. in the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts, 2400 South Stage Coach Lane.

Tickets can be purchased by calling (760) 451-8644 or visiting http://www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org.
