FALLBROOK — Community Health Systems announces that healthcare executive Alex Villa will assume the role of chief executive officer for Fallbrook Hospital on October 27.
Villa was most recently chief operating officer (COO) of a 281-bed facility in Las Vegas. Prior to that he was COO of a hospital in Huntington Park, CA, and served with healthcare organizations in Los Angeles and Encino.
“[Villa] is a dynamic, experienced leader with a proven track record of success in leading organizations that are strong clinically and financially,” said Dorothy Pratt, chairperson of the Fallbrook Hospital board of trustees.
“His balanced approach to involving physicians, employees and patients in meeting quality, service and growth goals will fit well with Fallbrook Hospital and our community,” she added.
“I’m looking forward to returning to California and being part of a hospital that really makes an impact on people’s lives and is connected to the community,” said Villa.
He said he is an advocate of maintaining a “strong, balanced team approach to patient care” and is excited about the opportunity to continue progress in making Fallbrook Hospital a great place to work, practice medicine and receive care.
“I have great confidence that he will partner with physicians and staff to continue our goal at Fallbrook Hospital to offer outstanding medical care to our patients,” said Dr. Graydon Skeoch, Fallbrook Hospital chief of staff.
Villa grew up in the San Fernando Valley and is fluent in English and Spanish. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in health administration from California State University, Northridge. He and his wife, Chrystal, have three small children.
