House party set Step Up/One Campaign

FALLBROOK — The Major League pennant races are heating up and that means the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County’s “Step Up to the Plate/It Just Takes One” campaign is on deck.

The club will officially kick off their campaign with a “Lead-Off Hitters House Party” on Saturday, October 25, at the home of Wayne and Marty Warner.

“Now more than ever our kids need our help,” stated campaign commissioner Doug Woods.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $200,000 to support the five core program areas the club offers its members at nine locations.

This year the campaign will once again feature the Rita Coolidge “Circle of Friends.” Any individual or company that contributes $2,500 or more to the campaign will be invited to a special reception in January hosted by Coolidge.

The campaign features five mock baseball teams made up of one team captain and team players who will compete against each other to see which team can raise the most funds for the organization. All members from each team will be inviting guests to attend the “Lead-Off Hitters House Party.”

The house party is free and guests will be treated to fabulous food and refreshments. They will have an opportunity to hear about the positive impact the club has on its members and then have a chance to make a tax-deductible contribution to the organization.

Anyone interested in attending the house party may call (760) 728-5871. Space is limited to 150 people.
