Fallbrook wins cribbage match

FALLBROOK — On September 25, 34 cribbage players participated in the monthly Senior Challenge Cribbage match.

Roy Cook of the Fallbrook team won all seven of his matches, including two skunks, to lead the Fallbrook team to an easy victory. The Fallbrook peggers won 61 matches to Oceanside’s 56.

Second place was won by tournament director Obie Weeks, who had six wins. The next four places each had five wins and one skunk.

The closest battle was for third place when Bob Rebar edged Barb Sacic by one peg and Clarence “Willie” Williams by three.

Bill McGinness won a $15 gift card donated by Albertsons in Oceanside and a $10 gift card donated by CVS Pharmacy in Fallbrook.

The monthly matches are held at the Vista Elks Lodge – 1947 East Vista Way, (760) 724-1968 – on the fourth Thursday of the month beginning at 12:30 p.m. This month’s match will be on October 23.
