DeLuz brush fire causes power outage, motorhome fire earlier near St. Peter's Church

Cal Fire has reported that a brush fire consumed about 1/4 acre in the area of 40401 Deluz Road (Thomas Brothers Map Page 409 B-5), corner of DeLuz and DeLuz-Murrieta Roads, before being quickly extinguished by firefighters.

"The fire’s spread has been stopped, with no damage to any structures," officials reported. "Engines from Cal Fire and the Deluz Volunteer Fire Department are remaining on scene to take care of any remaining hot spots.

Cause of the fire is said to have been a fallen tree limb that came into contact with electrical lines.

A few residences in the area are without power at this time, but San Diego Gas & Electric has said power is expected to be reinstated at approximately noon today.
