Roy Hillman Sheridan

Roy Hillman Sheridan, 72, of Fallbrook passed away peacefully on October 6, 2008. He retired to Fallbrook in 1995 after a 30-year career at LAC+USC Medical Center, where he worked his way up the ladder from a steamfitter apprentice to Building Craft Manager II.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally, who was at his side for 51 years. His children, Michael Sheridan of Huntington Beach, Carrie Sheridan of Fallbrook, and Shelley Beetler of Corona, will remember him with love. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Sheridan of Hanford, and sister-in-law, Phyllis of Newberg, OR. His six grandchildren, Wendy, Katie, McKenna, Jake, Michael and Penny, knew that they were his greatest joy.

Roy enjoyed taking the family camping throughout the western United States, waterskiing with family and friends in Lake Havasu and spent many a weekend in the desert, riding enduros as a sponsored racer. In his retirement years, he and Sally enjoyed their membership in the Palomar A’s touring the country with good friends. He also supported his grandchildren’s sports teams. You could find him in the stands at Ingold Field and at the Boys & Girls Club here in Fallbrook.

He was great at telling a joke, lending a hand and turning a wrench. His garage was his temple where the tools were his toys. He loved to restore cars to their original beauty and took pride in his last two projects: a 1967 Volkswagen bug and a 1955 Ford pickup truck. If you saw a CalTrans orange truck with blue flames on the hood and blue dice hanging from the rear view mirror cruisin’ through town, that was Roy.

He lead a full and rich life. He was a wonderful husband, father and papa and we’ll cherish the memories he left behind.
